It is our intention to teach you the basics of myrmecology (the study of ants) whether you intend to keep captive ants of your own, or perhaps conducting a school project, or you just want to learn a little more about these fascinating creatures. This web site concentrates mainly on the species of ant most commonly found in the British Isles, but most of the information here can be applied to many other species throughout the world.
