I recently went to Turkey, and while there I saw a fantastic species of ant. They were quite big about 10-12mm with red heads and thorax, long legs and a dark brown/black abdomen that pointed upwards when they ran. They were very fast moving ants. The entrance to the ants nest was at least 2 inches wide. I believe they may be a sub species of the Cataglyphis maybe Nodus...can anyone help?
